Fell's Point is a charming community in Southeast Baltimore that features a large swath of both commercial and residential waterfront property, a bustling commercial area that is filled with shops, restaurants and over 120 pubs, and an attractive blend of new renovations and old world aesthetics. The area is dominated by the waterfront region, which features antique-looking street lamps, cobblestone streets and a brief glimpse into the area's shipbuilding and manufacturing past. Fell's Point was founded in 1730 by William Fell, who was attracted to the area because of its deep water and close proximity to agricultural interests. Since then the area, along with the rest of Baltimore, has undergone a vast transformation, moving from immigrant stopping point to shipbuilding and then manufacturing over a roughly 220 year period before entering a period of decline. That decline was short-lived, however, as preservationists and developers have worked - sometimes together - to build up the area while maintaining many of the features that make the area so attractive to both residents and tourists. The homes for sale in Fell's Point tend to be older 2- and 3-story rowhomes, though Fell's Point also features new-construction condominiums and warehouses converted to apartments and condos.
